Traditional Chinese Microneedling is also called 7-Star Plum Blossom Needling. It is widely used in China and all over the world to help diminish fine lines, wrinkles, pores, dark pigmented spots and acne scars. It even helps with thinning hair! A one-hour treatment is only $160 and can be claimed through extended health insurance.
How Does Traditional Chinese Microneedling Work?
When small microneedles are tapped into the epidermal layer of the skin, the body senses it as "trauma" to the skin. Henceforth, the body will start recruiting nutrients and increasing its own blood supply to the skin. The skin then starts the "healing" process and produces more collagen, fibrin, and elastin molecules, just like how Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture works! New skin cells are produced and are laid down in the correct normal way, perpendicular to the original wrinkle or fine line. As a result, you see a younger and more rejuvenated face.
What Are The Benefits of Traditional Chinese Microneedling?
7-Star needle tip causes micro-trauma to the skin hence induces collagen production
Needles help soften and tenderize skin leaving skin smooth and silky after treatment
Reduces acne and acne scars by physically breaking down tough fiber strands and scar tissue
Helps increase new hair growth in patients with thinning hair by stimulating hair follicles and increasing blood flow
Useful for post-stroke paralysis, Bell's Palsy or any numbness or tingling in the body
What Does a Traditional Chinese Microneedling Session Feel Like?
You will be comfortably laid down on a treatment table while soft relaxing music is played in the background of a dimmed, candle-lit room. The face is first cleansed with a natural all-organic facial cleanser. A new and sterile 7-Star Needle tip will be placed on the hand-held tool and tapping of the needles onto fine lines, furrows, crow’s feet, and other problematic areas will take place for 10 to 15 minutes. No topical anaesthetics are used during this treatment because the pain level is only a 1 or 2 out of 10.
The most relaxing and rejuvenating process follows as your face gets a massage and scrub with an all natural aromatherapy facial oil and natural scrub from Avolon Organics. Afterwards, the face is cooled down with a Gold Collagen Face Mask (worth $15) for 15 to 20 minutes. You will be sent home with the same face mask to continue using it at night for another 15 to 20 minutes for optimal healing.
How Long Do I Need To Come For?
The best results have been noted when patients come for 1 treatment once a week for the first 4 weeks, followed by 1 treatment once every 2 weeks for the next 2 months (=8 sessions). Results are usually apparent after the 3rd to 4th treatment.
What Are The Possible Side Effects and How Will I Look Right After?
The face will be slightly red right after the treatment and will calm down after a few hours. Do not apply any make-up as this will clog up the open channels on the skin. Some patients may have a reaction to our natural products used in the treatment but such reactions are very rare. Because the needles are very small, bruising and bleeding are very uncommon and minimal but may still occur. See picture below:
