Things to note and expections of treatment outcome
Because growth factors in PRP are known to actively stimulate the proliferation of stem cells throughout the body, the growth and survival of your hair roots may be increased by prolonging the growth phase of the hair cycle. Hence, this may lead to higher success rates and longer-term results for regenerating your natural hair.
PRP takes time to facilitate the regeneration process. On average, results can be seen as soon as three to six months. Multiple treatments may be necessary to obtain optimal results for your hair loss condition. We recommend monthly treatments for at least the first 3 months.
Alternately, you may consult your medical doctor for realistic expectations regarding the specific reason(s) of your hair loss and the optimal number of treatments that may be necessary.
What is a PRP Hair treatment like?
Our Naturopathic Doctors will first apply some anesthetic cream to areas to be treated. We will then extract your blood and spin it in a high-velocity centrifuge machine. We will draw out one tube of blood for small areas to be treated ($750) and two tubes of blood for larger areas to be treated ($1000). After the PRP is extracted, we will use very small fine 33 gauge by 4mm needles to inject into areas to be treated. There will be some minor pain involved during this treatment but most patients rate pain level to be moderately low.
Mild pain, redness, irritation, itching, pin-point bleeding, heat sensation (like a mild sunburn), tenderness and swelling are the most common side effects. However, these side effects generally subside within 4-24 hours. In rare circumstances, dizziness, feeling faint, bleeding, infection and worsening of the hair may be experienced.
Possible side effects and complications include:

What is it?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a safe, effective, therapeutic hair rejuvenating treatment designed to treat classic signs of hair loss. PRP aids in the body’s natural repair process because it contains growth factors known to boost the growth of hair follicle stem cells and revitalize the hair root foundation to grow a thicker and healthier head of hair. PRP promotes more growth factors in treating inactive or recently transplanted hair follicles.
How does it work?
PRP hair treatment requires the use of your own blood to isolate plasma, where a concentrate of nutrients and platelets reside. Platelets are cells that naturally assist your body in healing and new tissue generation. Platelets also contain growth factors, which are involved in stem cell migration, and ultimately activate, rejuvenate and regenerate cells throughout the body. By isolating the platelet-rich portion of your blood and injecting it back into target regions, you are able to fight the signs of lost or thinning hair using your body’s natural biology.
