What happens during the visit?
Our Naturopathic Doctor will assess you, measure your circumferences and body fat percentage each visit. Multiple small injections will be made in the desired area (1mL for smaller areas and 2mL for larger areas, maximum of 3mL). We highly recommend Cupping for 30 minutes after the injections to help disperse the Lipotropic solution and release more fat cells ($65 extra, performed by Naturopath or Acupuncturist).
L-Methionine (25mg/mL): an amino acid that helps body process and eliminate fat
Inositol (50mg/mL): a vitamin-B like nutrient that prevents the collection of fat
Choline (50mg/mL): a macronutrient that supports brain and liver function
Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin 1000mcg/mL): a B vitamin helpful in metabolism
Chromium (4mcg/mL): a mineral that converts fat into usable energy
Possible Side Effects and Contraindications
The Lipotropic Injection is a natural and safe injection and generally has no side effects.
On occasion, some redness and swelling at the injection site may occur. This should get better within forty-eight (48) hours.
In rare cases, nutrients in the shot can cause diarrhea, peripheral vascular thrombosis, itching, transitory exanthema, urticaria (hives), feelings of swelling of the whole body.
Sensitivity to cobalt and/or cobalamin is a contraindication.
People with chronic liver and/or kidney dysfunction should not take frequent Lipotropic shots.
The shot contains B12 and B12 is contraindicated in Leber’s disease, a hereditary optic nerve atrophic condition.
Initial Lipotropic Injection Visit
The initial Lipotropic Injection visit is 15 minutes in duration ($90/1mL and $140/2mL), during which a health history, weight, body fat percentage and measurements will be taken.
Follow-up Lipotropic Injection Visit
All follow-up Lipotropic Injection visits are 5 minutes in duration ($50/1mL and $90/2mL). The patient's energy level, stress level, and sleep health will be assessed. Future Lipotropic injections will be determined by the treating Naturopathic Doctor although we normally recommend weekly injections for the first 4 visits and then bi-monthly injections thereafter or until results are achieved. Cupping is highly recommended as an adjunct treatment to help mobilize fat out of fat cells and disperse the solution.
Can I combine this with B12 and/or Adrenal Injections?
Yes, you can combine this injection with other B12 and/or Adrenal injections. The total number of injections will be determined by the Naturopathic Doctor and based on findings during the follow-up visit.
