Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture uses small 5mm intradermal needles to penetrate the skin to break down scar tissue from fine lines and wrinkles and stimulate collagen production.
For centuries, people from China have used acupuncture to benefit their longevity and health. Knowing that beauty comes from the inside out, they have mastered ways to increase energy flow within the body and speed up the healing process for rejuvenation. There are twelve main meridians in the human body and many begin or end on the face with internal branches that spread throughout the face. By stimulating certain points, blood and lymphatic circulation can be increased. This means that more nutrients can be delivered to aging cells and more toxins can be taken away.
How Does Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Work?
When small intradermal needles are inserted underneath the epidermal layer of the skin, the body senses it as "trauma" to the skin. Henceforth, the body will start recruiting nutrients and increasing its own blood supply to the skin. The skin then starts the "healing" process and produces more collagen, fibrin and elastin molecules. New skin cells are produced and are laid down in the correct normal way, perpendicular to the original wrinkle or fine line. As a result, you see a younger and more rejuvenated face.
What Are The Benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture?
Improves muscle tone and dermal contraction. Increases collagen production and its dispersal.
Helps to eliminate and reduce bags under the eyes, and decreases the tendency toward sagging and jowls.
Helps to eliminate puffiness by improving metabolism, and thus eliminating excess fluids.
Helps to eliminate fine lines of the face and has a diminishing effect on larger wrinkles.
Improves hormonal balance; thus, even those with hormonal acne can benefit
Moisturizes the skin by the increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face
Improves facial color by increasing peripheral circulation. Reduces or eliminates double chins.
Tightens the pores, brightens the eyes, helps to lift drooping eyelids, reduces stress evident in the face.
Slows the aging process, from within. Benefits the eyes, ears, sinuses, thyroid and brain.
What Does a Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture Session Feel Like?
You will be comfortably laid down on a treatment table while soft relaxing music is played in the background of a dimmed, candle-lit room. The face is first cleansed with a natural all-organic facial cleanser. Small intradermal needles will be inserted onto fine lines, furrows, crow’s feet, and other problematic areas for the first half of the session.
The most relaxing and rejuvenating process follows as your face gets a massage and scrub with an all natural aromatherapy facial oil. An calming lavender toner is applied, followed by a face firming moisturizer.
How Long Do I Need To Come For?
The best results have been noted when patients come for 1 treatment once a week for the first 4 weeks, followed by 1 treatment once every 2-3 weeks for the next 3 months (=10 sessions). Results are usually apparent after the 4th to 6th treatment.
What Are The Possible Side Effects?
Pain and numbness from local needle insertion to the face
Minor bruising usually resolved in 1-2 weeks
Sensitivities to natural products used (cleanser, toner, moisturizer, oil)
